Step I:
Answer the following:

What info. is found in all the calls?

-      -Visual, BOLD, Lettering as a heading
-     - 2 give the heading title of the calls with the deadline date @ the beginning
-      -They discuss who they are, what kind of a place, what kind of art is displayed
-      -Gallery purpose information: exhibiting art, what kind of artists they support/promote
-     - Who will be reviewing the submissions and accepting the proposed art work
-      -Submission Criteria in Detail: Proposal/explanation, digital images, bio or CV
-      Digital format instructions/specifications: size, file labeling, etc.
-     - Give additional information to help the application process go successfully such as tips, suggestions, examples, links with info.
-      -Gallery layout plans and measurements
-      -Gallery contact information
-     - links and dates are indicated
-     - Curator and participating organizations
-      -Funding information

The calls go in the order as listed above for the most part. Two calls are more general and open and one call is specific to a curated theme.

Step II:

PROS v. CONS

Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program: Pro- they exhibit contemporary art and allow hands on participation with the artist. Con- they seem like they only exhibit local artists of the state.

Flip-City; Flip-Toronto: Pro- they have a specific exhibition planned and guidelines to follow. Con- it’s specific to an idea but open to a few mediums this may not intrigue all artists.

Box 13  ArtSpace: Pro- very informative in a straight forward way, short. Con- lacks a visual eye catching header, the listed links makes the information less visible in certain criteria.

  1. Well done, Shayla. May think about how you format this response. Curious to hear more about how you feel about too strict of parameters being placed on the types of exhibitions.
